To the attention of the reader is presented a monograph by Liubov Voloshyn, a long-term researcher of Oleksa Novakivskyi’s work, Honored Artist of Ukraine, which is dedicated to another bright page in the creative work of this outstanding Ukrainian artist. The author, based on numerous literary and archival sources, for the first time in domestic literature, highlights the fundamentally important role of Oleksa Novakivskyi in the work of female images, which were his favorite means of poetic allegory and symbolist transformation of reality. For the first time in Ukraine, the work publishes several foreign paintings by Oleksa Novakivskyi and his little-known drawings. The book is addressed to art researchers, students of higher art schools, culturologists, and all art lovers.
