Description
Reprint edition of a unique book — a guide to Kyiv in 1930. Its editor played the leading role in the realization of the publication, a prominent Ukrainian art critic and monument guard, Fedir Ernst. The book has 340 articles, 243 of which were written (partly co-authored) by F. Ernst himself. The rest of the articles were written by prominent scientists of the 1920s and 1930s: Vasyl Bazylevych, Petro Kurinnyi, Vsevolod Zummer, Mykhailo Rudynskyi, Oleksa Novytskyi, Mykola Makarenko, Yevhenia Spaska, and others. The foreword to the modern edition was written by the famous Ukrainian historian Serhii Bilokon. The publication brings back the face of Kyiv, which has not yet suffered architectural losses from the ideological influences of the Soviet totalitarian system.
