The second edition of the book “Musical Instruments of the Ukrainian People” by the coryphaeus of Ukrainian culture Hnat Martynovych Khotkevych (1877–1938) has been waiting for publication for 75 years. Compared with the first edition (Kharkiv, 1930), the second edition of Hnat Khotkevych’s immortal and one-of-a-kind work is twice as large. Also, it has differences at the conceptual and theoretical levels. The book is illustrated with rare images, supplemented by interesting photobiographical materials and professional articles by the best instrumentalists of today.
