Description

The book includes selected texts by the prominent Ukrainian philologist Oleksandr Opanasovich Potebnia (1835–1891), devoted to two important areas of his research — the theory of language and the theory of myth. The first includes the monograph “Thought and Language” (1862) and the article “Psychology of Poetic and Prose Thinking” (1910).

The second includes the studies “Poetic and Mythical Thinking” (1905), “The Character of Mythical Thinking” (1905), “Myth and the Word” (1905), and “On the Participation of Language in the Formation of Myths” (1905).
