Description
Quantitatively geo-floral patterns are taking first place among the works of Vasyl Krychevskyi. The ornament, dated 1920, distinguishes his artistic work.
Three parallel zigzags create the diagonal disposition of ornamental movement whilst forming βalcovesβ for geometrized branches with fruits and leaves. Delicate shading of blue (three tints) on the grey background grants a feeling of harmony and integrity.
This ornament composition serves as an allusion to Poltavian folk rugs, but as usual, it is masterly adapted by the artist in a modern way.
