Description

The republication of the fundamental work of Volodymyr Shukhevych’s «Hutsul Region» (in five parts, 1899-1908) is carried out in a reprint way. It is published for the first time under one cover. The «Hutsul Region» remains an example of selfless work in preserving authentic Ukrainian culture and is a rich source of knowledge about the traditional Hutsuls’ life. A foreword (Andriy Karpenko) and an afterword (Mykhailo Glushko) were written especially for reprint edition, which clarifies the role of the proposed work at the time of its publication in the early twentieth century, as well as actualizes the meaning of «Hutsul Region» today..
