The monograph is the first detailed scientific study covering both the artistic and literary works of Mykhailo Zhuk – one of the founders of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts in 1917, a universal of a rare type, a representative of the era of the Ukrainian «Executed Renaissance». M. Zhuk’s work is viewed as the closest tie to the problems of Ukrainian art culture of that time, and the role of the artist-writer in its development is revealed. Many new works of the Master were introduced into scientific circulation. The evolutionary series was built for the first time. The works are analyzed in the context of European synchronicity and are accompanied by their respective lists indicating the given location. The book is intended for professionals and all interested in Ukrainian literature and fine arts.
