Description
Myron Korduba’s «Painted Easter eggs in Galicia» is one of the first comprehensive researches devoted to Ukrainian Easter egg-painting. Despite the geographical locality (Northern Galicia), the author uses a broad scientific context — national and European. The visual morphological analysis of Easter egg ornaments has both scientific and practical value. The decoration of the work is an extensive color illustrative addendum of 154 pysanky, made by lithographer Andriy Andreychin. Reprinting is carried out with the preservation of the original spelling according to the publication: Korduba M. Pysanka in Galician Volhynia // Materials on Ukrainian-Rus ethnology. — Lviv, 1899. — Vol. 1. — P. 168–210; 13 tab.
