Description
The portrait gallery of Ukrainian kobzars, created by the outstanding Ukrainian artist and ethnographer Opanas Slastion (1855-1933), is reproduced for the first time in color from the originals stored in the funds of the National Library of Ukraine named after V.I. Vernadskyi. Twenty-three portraits of Ukrainian kobzars, created by the author in 1875-1928, testify to the artist’s deep knowledge of the kobzars’ subculture. A foreword accompanies the portraits of kobzars by the famous Ukrainian art critic Vitalii Khanko.
