Description

The first volume of the two-volume “Vasyl Hryhorovych Krychevskyi: Chrestomathy” is devoted to the period of creativity of the outstanding Ukrainian artist-architect from 1891 to 1943. The publication contains text works by V.H. Krychevskyi, selected research about him, autobiographical heritage, information about personal exhibitions of the artist 1940-1941 years, archival biographical materials, etc. Particular attention is paid to the creative work of V.H. Krychevskyi: painting, graphics, decorative and applied arts, film design, architecture. Much of the master’s artistic heritage is published for the first time. The book attempts to bring back from oblivion the “golden” name of Ukrainian art – Vasyl Hryhorovych Krychevskyi: creator of the national style in architecture – Ukrainian modernism, excellent scenographer, graphic artist, talented film artist, etc. Most published texts are a collection of sources about Vasyl Krychevskyi from 1891 to 1943. But some of the archived materials are published for the first time.
